Kocrilov u Svitav - Czech Republic. August 17 - 21. 2011
Fr. James conducted a residential renewal retreat for over 600 people in the Church of Alponsus Ligouri  at Fatima Apostolate Centre in Koclirov U Svitav of Czek Republic from August 17th to 20th. It was organized by Fr. Powel and Hanna. As the Church was small, people had to squeeze themselves to sit down and listen to the Word of God preached. There were people in corridoors, verandhas and small rooms where the whole program was projected on screens. During the retreat, the local bishop Jan Vokal visited the participants of the retreat and gave an encouraging message and gave his apostolic blessing. He was very much edified and happy to see the thirst of the people to listen to God's words in spite of sufficient comfort and convenience in the venue. Gaby gave a beautiful testimony of her conversion and healing. On the 3rd day Fr. James prayed over every one for the infilling of the Holy Spirit and on the last day by sharing testimonies of inner healing and physical healing, the group expressed their gratitude to God.

On 21st sunday,  from 9 AM, over 5000 people gathered in the open air space of the venue to listen to God's words and to receive the blessings of conversion, healing etc. It was called a day of evangelization. It is a hilly meadow with many apple trees and other fruit trees, and the people were happy to be under the shades of the trees, and with umbrellas on the grass to listen to the program. Dr. Richie gave his powerful testimony of conversion and healing. His presence along with his wife Jenine & four children was an inspiration especially for the young married couples. Radek & Suzanna, an young couple whom Fr. James married a month & a half ago at Prague, also gave their testimony of conversion last year here in the same ground. It is the similar program last year here that opened their eyes towards  the need of a life centered on Christ and the Church. Although they were baptized, they had not practiced any form of  Christianity. After their touch of the Lord here last year, they participated the retreats of Fr. James in France, Portugal etc, and after learning Catechism and the Bible, received the Sacraments of confession, communion, confirmation and matrimony within an year. Now they are determined to do what they can to evangelize their Republic. The day of evangelization ended with the Holy Mass and healing prayers conducted by Fr. James. All the talks were translated by Varslaw and Hanna. Here are are some photos.

Bielorussia. July 28 - 31. 2011
On 26th July Gaby and Fr. James arrived in the airport of Vilnius, the Capital of Lithuania. Fr. Czeslaw, the organizer of the program in Belarus received them and took them immediately to the Shrine of the Divine Mercy where the original  picture of the Divine Mercy, painted by Eugeniuz Kazimiroswaki in 1934 under the direct supervision of St. Maria Faustina (who has the mystical experiences of the Divine Mercy) and her spiritual father & confessor Blessed Michael Spocko. At 4 pm Frs. James & Czeslaw concelebrated the Holy Mass there and Fr. James preached. Then Fr. James and Gaby visited the home of Bl. Sopocko where the picture was painted. Then all proceeded to Belarus. The security at the border took more than one hour to screen & to verify the passports of Fr.James and Gaby. It is very difficult for foreigners to visit this country which has only very limited freedom although it is a republic!  Fr. James was given special permission by the President to preach in the country. Late in the evening they reached the town & parish called "Rose" where the retreat was to be conducted. The Holy Trinity Church here is 400 years old. Recently it is raised as a sanctuary of the "Passion of Christ" as there is a miraculous statue of the Passion of Christ on the main altar.

On the following day they visited the seminary, the Castles and  Catholic Cathedral  and the Orthodox Cathedral at Grodno. The retreat began in the afternoon which was in the open air, attended by more than 3000 people. Although the majority were Belarusians, there were people  also from Moldavia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Austria and Russia (from Kaliningrad and Moska). It was for the first time after freedom from the Red Army that such a big spiritual event  was conducted in the country. Often dark clouds were on the sky to rain but the fervent prayers of the people to Jesus coupled with the command of Fr. James to chase the clouds by winds for a suitable climate, kept the venue freed from rains, although all around the town it was raining on all those days. For many unbelievers it was the great miracle! Belarus is a country with a population of 10 million with 45% of atheists. The Catholics and the Orthodox constitute Christianity in the country. The Catholic population is estimated as 2 million. Almost 30% of the participants of the retreat were the Orthodox.  Fr. James gave powerful orations on Christ and His Church explaining very clearly the need of conversion and new life through the experience of the Holy Spirit. For many people it was for the first time that they were hearing about the power of Sacraments and the Church. Gaby shared her testimony of conversion & that of her son Richie and  her own healing from MS. On Saturday after noon Fr. James prayed over all by laying hands. On Sunday, the local Bishop of the Diocese of Grodno Dr. Rt. Rev Alexandro Kaszkiewicz (the President of the Bishops conference of the country) came along with Bishop Antoni Dziemianko, the auxiliary Bishop of the diocese of Minsh to concelebrate the Holy mass. On all days there were many priests to hear confessions and to concelebrate the Holy Mass, and most of them had made a retreat with Fr. James in Poland a few months ago. The Chancellor of the Diocese Fr. Vladimir gave the homily and the Bishop gave his words of appreciation at the end of the Mass. Both the Bishops were on the stage after the Mass to participate in the thanks giving program, to hear the various testimonies of the people and to attend the blessings of the articles by Fr. James. There were beautiful testimonies of healing and conversion. The retreat ended with the official blessing with the Crucifix by Bp. Alexandro for the Plenary Indulgence while people prayed for the intention of the Holy Father the Pope.

In the evening on Sunday Fr. James was taken to the Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier at Grodno for healing Mass. It was for the fist time that the bishop allowed for such a program in his cathedral. A large crowd which was estimated more than 5000 had gathered in the Cathedral to attend the Holy Mass celebrated in Polish by Fr. James, to hear his powerful preaching of the Word of God and to pray for healing of the soul body. The Parish priest of the Cathedral said that he had not seen such a big crowd in the Cathedral even for Christmas and the Easter! He exclaimed and said that it was a "spiritual Tsunami" for the believers  of the Diocese from 27th to 31st of July. On 1st Morning Gaby & Fr. James left Belarus and after visiting the miraculous Icon of the "Mother of Mercy" and the 3 martyrs in the Orthodox church in Lithuania  and returned to Munich via Lithuania& Frankfurt.

Viseu - Portugal. July 22 - 24. 2011
From 22nd to 24th July a renewal retreat was conducted in the Muncipal stadium at Viseu in Portugal. Over 1500 people attended the retreat. On the second day morning due to a health problem, Fr. James had to go the public hospital to consult the doctors, hence he could not preach in the morning. But Mr. Joao, the main organizer of the retreat kept the people spiritually active through readings from the Bible, prayers and singing etc. In the after noon Fr. James rushed to the hall and continued preaching. On the last day he prayed over all those who were in the hall, although many advised him to take rest.
On the 23rd, at 2 PM, Fr. James baptized a child called "Samira", the first child of Francisco and Andrea (collaborators to organize the retreats) in the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception (Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceiçao) in St. Joseph's Parish of Viseu. Here are some photos.
On 25th Fr. James celebrated the Holy Mass in the Chapel of the airport at Madrid along with Gaby, Javier, Gaby's sister Elsie and her daughter Rocío. It was the feast of St. James, the patron of Spain. In Spain it was a solemnity day, and Fr. James was so happy to say Mass in Spain on that day. Javier says that in the past several times on 25th of July Fr. James was in Spain. It is not simple coincidence! Perhaps God wants Fr. James to believe the fact that St. James, the apostle, his patron saint was buried in Santiago Compostela.

Retreat of the Married couples at Bialystok: - Poland. July 11 - 14. 2011
Over a thousand  married couples gathered  at the School hall of Zespol Szkol Rolniczych Centrum "Ksztalcenia Praktycznego" to attend the retreat preached by Fr. James and to renew their marital commitment from 14th to 17th. Priests and people here are well known to Fr. James as he conducted a retreat for all last year, and a retreat for priests this year in the month of May. Fr. James helped the married couples to reconcile and love each other more. All his preaching from the Bible was about married life and family. Many times he emphasized and said, "What God has joined, man should not separate and that God hates divorce".  Dr. Richie too came to give testimony of  his conversion and  about his good married life with his wife Jenine& four children, and gave a very good class on the last day to the married couples about making home a paradise. Quoting Bl. John Paul II Fr. James said all that destroys the body, the temple of God are sins. He prayed over specially on those who decided to stop cigarettes, alcohol, drugs and other bad habits like addictions to T.V, internet, gambling, computer games etc  etc. Also he prayed over all those who were physically sick. The  recent book of Fr. James on married life, "Paradise Restored", translated into Polish by Daria was released on the first day of the retreat and all the books brought by Gaby were sold out! On the 3rd day there was inner healing prayers and out pouring of the holy Spirit. It was great to see how the life- partners were holding in their hands his or her spouse who were resting in the Spirit while Fr.James prayed over their heads. On the same evening a wedding mass was celebrated where holding hands the couples renewed their vows and exchanged the rings. Some had lost their rings even, so they had to buy a new one! The priests went down to sprinkle  holy water on the hands held together by the couples. After the exchange of rings the husbands gave a rose flower to the respective wives. Even the old couples said that they felt great experience of love in this retreat. When they left the hall they felt themselves newly wedded couples. On the last day Sunday from 7am Fr. James met them as families, many with their children, and prayed over them and Gaby gave them all a prayer card  of the "consecration of the family to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus". The Children gathered around Fr. James for a group photo. The retreat was organized by Ewa Gierejko, a very great+holy woman who is consecrated to the Lord Jesus,& Justyna and Jacek Zalek, married couples, with the spiritual guidance of Fr. Jurek Seczek, a very young priest. Jacek is a parliamentarian .When Jacek&Justyna attended the retreat of Fr. James at Torun last year, he challenged them to organize a married couples retreat, and they took up the challenge and did it.Praise the Lord.!

From 11 to 2 PM Fr.James Celebrated a healing Mass as usual in previous times in the Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy and prayed over the people who had gathered in many thousands. The big sanctuary and the precinct were packed with people. Many priests who had been with Fr.James for the retreat of the priests had come to concelebrate.

One day program at Obory - Poland. July 12th. 2011
On 12th Tuesday a One day charismatic program was conducted by Fr.James at the Sanctuary of the mother of Sorrows ( Sanktuarium Matki Bozej Bolesnej w Oborach) at Oborach where more than 10 000 people  from various parts of Poland attended the preaching and healing program of the day. This place is far away from all towns and cities, a quite place for prayers and contemplation, it is about 100 KMs away from Warsaw. The image of the Bl. Mother of Sorrows is a special one, the face of the mother expresses well love, compassion, sorrow etc and the crucified Jesus in her hands looks like a child Jesus, and she holds him as if she was holding him when he was a child ! Fr. James liked the place well because his congregation (MSFS) has Mother of Sorrows as their patron. This old Carmelite   monastery is well known in Poland and people go there regularly. It is Fr. Piotre Meczyniski who loves the evangelization ministry of Fr.James ,who organized this large program which was the biggest crowd in the history of the sanctuary. Here  people come regularly for pilgrimage and especially on Saturdays for the " Cenacle prayer and receiving of the Scapular. Including Fr. James and Gaby many people received scapulars from the hands of the holy Carmelite priests. Fr.Piotre is very prayerful and acetic with his fasting, mortifications and abstinence. His Mass, prayers and presence radiates grace to all who come to the Monastery and the Sanctuary. To commemorate the event of Fr.James visit, he had prepared a special crucifix to be blessed  to keep permanently in the Sanctuary because according to him every missionary has to share the suffering of Christ Jesus. From here Fr. James team left to Bialystok, for the retreat of the married couples.

Basilica of the Assumption of the
Bl. Virgin Mary at Svaty Hostyn
On 28th June Tuesday at 11 am, Fr.James blessed the marriage of his spiritual children, Radek and Suzana in the Basilica of the Assumption of the Bl. Virgin Mary at Svaty Hostyn, in Czech Republic. After reaching Munich on midnight on 27th from the convention in Slovenija, early morning on Monday Gaby and Fr. James along with Richie and family drove to the hotel Augustiansky Dum at A. Vaclavike in Moravia of Czech Republic where they stayed the night for the wedding in the morning. It was about one hour drive from there to  the Basilica. Fr. James celebrated Mass in their language, blessed the marriage and gave the homily. According to the desire of the Bride and Bridegroom, Fr. James had already brought a chain with a "THALI" from Kerala (typical marriage symbol of a cross in the Syro Malabar Marriages in Kerala, India), and after the exchange of rings, the Bridegoom tied the Thali on the neck of the Bride. Then Fr. James invited all the married couples present to come around them and to pray over them by stretching their hands on them to invoke the power of the Holy Spirit by singing "Sprirt of the of the Living God fall afresh on them..." Fr. Powel from Kochlirov helped Fr. James for the rituals, and Hanna translated the homily and conducted the choir. At the reception in the hotel there were some typical cultural performances both of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Radek is from Czech Republic and Suzanna is from Slovakia. Immediately after the reception at 6 pm, fr. James & team left to Germany in order to drive early morning to Poland for retreats. Here are some photos of the wedding:

The subject of the seminar was:  "Do not  grow slack in zeal, be fervent in Spirit, serve the Lord" (Rom 12:11). All the talks were very solid to deepen the faith of the people in order to grow more in the love of God and the neighbor. Those who participated for all the eight conventions testify that Fr. James gave different talks in all conventions and all his approaches and prayers were varying in each so that no body could bored. One said that Fr. James repeats  in all conventions one theme, that is the  need of holiness and ask the participants several times, "What is the will of God for you, my dear Children" and all respond, "my holiness!!". Many testimonies of conversions and healing were reported. Fr. James instructed the people very well how to read the signs of the times and to prepare themselves to meet the Lord at any moment as authentic Catholic Christian. On the second day, Fr. Franz Spelic, the stigmatic and visionary priest attended the talks, concelebrated the Holy Mass and gave the blessing at the end of the Adoration. On the last day fr. In July, exactly 7-10, a charismatic retreat with prayer for healing will be preached by the missionary priest Fr. James Manjackal at the Sports Hall in Skarzysko. The four-day retreat will not be open to everyone; those who would like to participate should register. Some 500 people from all over Poland have registered so far but there are still many seats available. The rule ‘first come first served’ applies here. We talk about Fr. James and the retreat with Fr. Slawomir Plusa.

Priest:
Fr. James Manjackal is very well known in Europe and around the world as he has visited over 80 countries. In the year 2011 alone, apart from conducting retreats in Poland, he will preach in the Czech Republic, Portugal and other places. He is well known in Poland because he has preached retreats in several places here.
Fr. James is a very interesting  character. He himself experienced a deep conversion when he was already a priest which affected  his ministry in a powerful  way. He belongs to the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales.
A real breakthrough in his experience of God was a charismatic prayer, a prayer for healing. He was  gravely  ill suffering from kidney tuberculosis and bedridden. One day a young man of 20 suddenly entered the hospital room and said, “Father, I will pray over you.” Without having read the hospital chart he said what he was going to pray about. As it turned out the young man was a new convert to Catholicism and was endowed with the gift of charismatic prayer for healing as well as the gift of the word of knowledge, so he knew what to pray for. Indeed something very important happened to Fr. James after that prayer. It was not only a physical healing, as he got out of bed and his health was restored, but above all, he received inner healing, spiritual healing. His relation to God became deeper.

As he says himself, it was a critical time for him when he had a deeply personal encounter with Jesus Who came directly to him. At the time Fr. James was quite desperate, thinking that his priesthood was fruitless and  realizing that deep in his heart he had not forgiven everyone completely. He thought  that his Mass offering was unworthy and fruitless. He says the experience lasted for 3 hours and during that prayer time Jesus told him that at the moment He Himself was conceived in His Mother’s womb, James and his priesthood was also conceived there and then. When he heard that, something that no man would ever think of, it was a great turning point for him. At that moment all his inner wounds and complexes he was carrying were healed. And so he became a completely new person and especially a new priest.

Interviewer:
And now there will be an opportunity to meet Fr. James here in Skarzysko at the retreat with prayer for healing.

Priest:
Yes, Fr. James is endowed by the Holy Spirit with the charism of prayer for healing, among other gifts, and his prayer bears great fruits in the hearts of many people.
We have never had a retreat of this kind in Skarzysko-Kamienna before. It will last for four days, 7-10 July from the morning hours till the evening. So we should find some free time to attend the retreat – it is definitely worthwhile. It is worthwhile to participate in this retreat as it will give people a new experience of faith.

Interviewer:
It’s worth mentioning that those who wish to participate in the retreat should register today, so that they don’t miss their chance of taking part in it.

Priest:
Unfortunately, it’s not going to be a typical parish retreat when one just walks in, takes a seat and listens to the Word of God. It will be a closed retreat . In this case not everybody can come but only those who have registered for it. Many have already registered – over 500 people – but there are still seats  available. It is absolutely necessary to register in order to be able to participate in this retreat. Registration should be done through the website: www.rekolekcje.skarzysko.pl or by telephone – numbers are to be found on the website, but it is absolutely necessary to register for the retreat.

Interviewer:
Father, to conclude, could you say whether one should prepare oneself for this retreat in any special way?

Priest:
Yes, surely it is good to go to the sacrament of penance & reconciliation before the retreat, so that one can receive the Word of God with a pure heart because during the retreat there may not be enough time to do it or there may not be enough priests available for hearing confessions, so that is a practical condition. First of all, one should come along in faith but it would be good to go to confession before the retreat, so that one can experience the whole retreat in peace.

Priests retreat. Bialystok - Poland. May 16 - 20. 2011
Fr. James preached a retreat for priests in Poland at Bialystok in the Shrine of the Divine Mercy from 16th May to 20th. Some 134 priests attended the retreat with great enthusiasm. Most of the priests were from the Arch Diocese of Bialystok. There were some religious priests also. Fr. Jiji Manjackal, nephew of Fr. James,a missionary of St. Francis de Sales working in Philippines also was there to attend the retreat. All the priests attended the retreat from the beginning to the end. Agnieszka and Jadwiga translated the talks. The subject of the retreat was "enkindling the Gift of the Holy Spirit received by the Laying on of hands" ( 2Tim 1:6). All the talks were on priesthood. On the second day in spite of his heavy schedule of visiting parishes, the Arch Bishop Most Rt. Rev Edward  Ozorowski came to the hall to greet the participants and to give a short message. There was inner healing prayers and prayer of renewal of priesthood by the laying on hands. On the last day some 18 priests gave testimonies of healing, conversion and change of lives. The retreat was organized by Ewa Gierejko and her community under the able guidance of Fr.Zbigniew Snarski, the spiritual director of the seminary.

The priest's retreat officially ended with the concelebrated mass of all these priests on 20th at 3PM in the big Shrine of the Divine Mercy where the relics of St.Faustina and of her spiritual director Bl.ks.Michala are venerably preserved. More than 2000 people attended the Mass. The Sanctuary was packed with people. Fr. James preached and prayed for healing after the Mass. After the prayers of healing, all the priests went down to the people to lay hands on the people and to bless them individually. It was a great experience  of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit for the people gathered. Here are some photos:

Healing on the seventh day

Who would have thought that the shy priest from India would become a world famous preacher? “When a young man praying over me said: ‘One day you will be a charismatic preacher’, I immediately snapped out: ‘Never!’ Me??? I was not even able to deliver a sermon”, Fr. James Manjackal reminisces. “On top of that I never liked those hysterical charismatics.”

“A black hole, a void, a failure”, suchlike thoughts kept running through the mind of the neo-presbyter. “My dear, my dear”, he was mumbling, sweating profusely. He helplessly stared at the pulpit, not daring to look at the faithful. His shyness paralyzed him. He was so terrified that he was not capable of saying one more word. People were laughing discreetly. Not bad for a priest’s first sermon. “I was going weak at the knees”, says Fr. James Manjackal today. “I was not able to utter even one sentence. Seeing the pitiful predicament I found myself in, the parish priest told me after a few minutes, ‘Enough of this preaching’. Full of self-pity and terrible unease I obeyed him”. At the sacristy the parish priest summed it up, “He is a Missionary of St. Francis de Sales but what is he going to preach?”. Who would have thought that the shy priest from India would become one of the most famous preachers of the Church and a charismatic who would be drawing crowds?

Intrusion in hospital
He was not a fan of the charismatics. Well, just a hysterical crowd , that is what they were to him. “In 1975 I read some articles on healings in the American press”, he recalls. ”I could not believe that in the present day and age people were being healed by faith. I laughed at the gift of tongues, claiming it must be some hysterical  women’s lamentations. My mind was filled with pride having to do with my knowledge in the field of philosophy and psychology. After I had been ordained  priest on 23 April 1973, I was appointed as a professor at the Ettumanoor Seminary. I dreamed of a comfortable, honorable position. At the time I was not even able to imagine a life of a vagabond moving from one place to another and having to cope with various unforeseen circumstances. I was looking for security. At a certain retreat when I heard a person praying over me on the day of infilling by the Holy Spirit say, ‘One day you will be a charismatic preacher’, I laughed in his face and said, ‘Me? Never!’. A week after the retreat I fell seriously ill for the first time in my life. I was in two hospitals for over four months. I was weak and pale”, he recalls today. “I could not eat due to abdominal pains. I also had severe back pain. Seeing me in such terrible state many thought I would soon die. At last the diagnosis was made: kidney tuberculosis.
I also had kidney stones and general body infection. I was again admitted to hospital. On the seventh day of my stay in hospital something wonderful happened which changed my whole life completely. A twenty year old man suddenly entered my room. Without much ado he asked me, ‘Father, can I pray for your healing?’. I was dumbfounded. As a Catholic priest I did not want to let anybody unknown to me lay hands on me and pray aloud. I had not had a chance to say anything before the young man put his hands on my head and began to pray, ‘Father in Heaven, send the Spirit of Your Son Jesus to this priest suffering from kidney tuberculosis, kidney stones and infections and restore his health of soul and body’. I thought he might have read my hospital chart and thus came to know my ailments. I did not know at the time that while praying over me he was using the gift of word and knowledge. He went on praising God aloud. I felt some power flowing from his hands. At that moment I got to know the power of praise and loud prayer. Suddenly I thought of the blind beggar Bartimaeus, calling out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me”.

Healing of the ‘blacky’ and the  ‘fatty’
Then the stranger began to whisper words which made the astonished priest freeze. He felt as if someone was speaking out his innermost secrets, making known the secrets no one had known of before! That must have been God’s making. The stranger went on praying, “Lord, this priest is a good priest but he is unable to preach the Gospel. He is very shy and full of fears; in his early childhood he developed an inferiority complex. He lost his father when he was seven. He felt rejected by other children. His mother, a young widow, had many problems when bringing up the children. His siblings called him ‘fatty’ and his school mates called him ‘blacky’ because of his darker skin. This child was deeply wounded in his childhood. His heart was full of resentment towards others. Lord, heal his inner wounds and liberate him from the chains of bondage. Oh, Holy Spirit, fill his heart with Your love!”. “I was amazed at the prayer. The Word of God was penetrating me deeply to the very bone marrow. All the boy said was true. I already knew it was not written in the hospital chart. He was reading a different chart which came from the Holy Spirit.
In tears I recalled the words of Jesus, ‘I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike’. I began to cry. I shed tears over my pride, especially my intellectual pride. I felt the living water flowing through me and liberating me. I believed God was healing me and I praised Him for it. I began to sob. I prayed in desperation, ‘Lord, save me, a sinner!’ And God did not abandon me in my despair. When a nurse came in to give me injections I called out, ‘I have been healed!’. Soon my doctor came and scolded me for disobedience. I said to him, ‘I’m sorry doctor, I should take the medicines but I know that I have been healed!’. After the prayer I went for…an hour’s walk. Afterwards I celebrated Mass in the chapel with more than 150 people present. I read the story of Zacchaeus and without preparation I was able to preach a sermon for 18 minutes, depending solely on the Holy Spirit, and looking into people’s eyes!”.

A Globetrotter
That was the beginning of the healing. Since then Fr. James has been tirelessly travelling the world. Oftentimes he has had to face numerous adversities; he was kidnapped by the infidels and imprisoned in Arab countries. What is interesting, almost identical was the experience of Fr. Emiliano Tardif, the author of the bestseller “Jesus lives today!” or the compatriot of Fr. James, Fr. Joseph Bill. The once ironical skeptics became ardent missionaries after having been healed. In order that they may believe in the immense power of the sacrament of priesthood, Jesus had to touch their hearts and take them through the reality of hospital experience. Since they all came out of the trial transformed, they could not keep to themselves what they had seen and heard and what their hands had touched. For the last several dozen years Fr. Manjackal has been preaching the Gospel with real fire. In his mouth it is the good news and not the boring news. His preaching of the Bible is accompanied by signs which Jesus promised to the disciples as we read in the final words of the Gospel according to Mark.
He comes from India, a country which is a melting pot of cultures and religions. At the time I was beginning to write this text the press agencies reported that Sai Baba had just died in India. The contemporary guru used to say without blinking an eye, “My name is Jesus”. He died on Easter Day. A coincidence? For years Fr. James Manjackal has been preaching the true Jesus. The One Who rose on the third day. The One Who touches, transforms and heals. “I feel that the Holy Spirit organizes  all of it”, he says. “It is something I learned from John Paul II. He always used to say that the power behind evangelization is the Holy Spirit. There is no other technique. Some people ask me, ‘Father, what is your technique, your method?’. I have no technique and no method. The promise is being fulfilled before our very eyes: ‘Behold, I make all things new!’. The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead rise again, and the poor have the Gospel preached to them”. He knows what he is talking about. He has experienced it first-hand.

Piding - Germany. First communion of Anna on 14th. May 14th. 2011
On 14th May the friends of Fr .James gathered at Piding to celebrate the 50th birthday of Fr. Florian Parth & Javier López, and the 65th birthday of Fr.Antony Kolencherry& Fr. James Manjackal. Richie and Jenine took this opportunity to prepare their daughter Anna who is  completing 6 on the following day for her first Holy Communion.  Before starting the concelebrated Mass at 11 AM, Richie introduced all the priests to the congregation and welcomed all the guests.Ten priests concelebrated the Holy Mass in  the Church of "Our Lady of Nativity" at Piding. Deacon Kurt served the Mass. Fr. James gave  a short homily on the importance of Eucharist in the life of a catholic. Anna Received the Body of Christ from Fr.James & the Blood of Christ from Fr.Florian.There were  about a hundred participants from Portugal, Poland, Spain, Italy, Nigeria, India, Austria, Slovenija & Germany. After the Mass all had a sumptuous meal in the house of Richie.

Anna was conceived in Bethlehem while her parents made the "honey moon" in the Holy land. She was blessed in her mothers womb by Bl .John Paul II, when he received the newly married couples in Vatican. While born she was a blue child with all symptoms  of epilepsy but the Lord healed her fully by prayers especially at Baptism. While she was a few months old, in her visit to Kerala with her parents, a priest gave her the Blood of Christ as it is the custom in the Syro Malabar church. The priest thought that she was baptized on that day! In Eastern rite the children are given Holy Communion and confirmation at their Baptism. From her two, she was asking for Holy Communion.  She, along with her sister and two brothers go daily to the Holy Mass with her parents. Hence all the children have a great attraction to the Holy Eucharist. She learned almost all prayers in English, Latin and German. During the concelebrated Mass, during the Offertory and after the Communion, Anna sang hymns --"All to Jesus I surrender..."& "To be like Jesus..." After the Mass she gave vote of thanks.
