Fest für Jesus 28th June – 1st July “The blind regained the sight, the lame walked, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good news proclaimed to them (Lk 7: 22)
Hundreds of people met Jesus, the living Lord, and received His richest blessings changing their lives in the Fest für Jesus conducted by Fr. James Manjackal in the Eishalle Liebenau (stadium for 5000 people). Everyday in the afternoon, people were giving testimonies of healings, life changes, for example: one lady, who received a cassette on esoteric, spoken by Anneliese Scherer, from her own daughter, threw away all her esoteric practices and reconciled with her husband, whom she had divorced. Several people testified of their physical healings. The testimonies of husbands and wives who started family prayers at home, after attending the retreat of Fr. James, were marvellous.
The many testimonies were proofs that the retreats preached by Fr. James in Austria, especially in the dioceses of Graz, are bringing a new generation led by the Spirit of God. The “Fest für Jesus” was so international that not only the Austrians participated in it, but people from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Croatia, Slovenien, Hungary, and even Indians and South Americans were there. Retreat at Marianeum - Vienna Fr. James gave a charismatic retreat in the chapel of Marianeum from 24th to 27th of June. The Chapel which could accommodate only about 200 was crowded with the double of the people. As Fr. James as well known in Vienna for his powerful preaching and prayer of healing, many people were rushing for the Holy Mass in the evening and to meet him individually during the break times to have the laying on of the hands. Although Fr. James was feeble after coming from the middle East, he kept himself energetic and vibrant during the retreat days. There were many conversions and healings in the retreat. A doctor, who was walking with the clutches for two years, threw away the clutches and started walking, two people claimed healings from MS, five people claimed healings from cancers. The priest who came for confessions, testified, that there were marvellous conversions-people made confession even after 20 or 30 years. It was interesting to note that many young people participated in the retreat and gave testimonies of coming back to the faith and to the church. Immediately after the retreat, Fr. James left to Graz for the Fest für Jesus.

From the 1st to the 5th of June, Fr. James conducted a charismatic retreat in Mitterdorf, in the church of St. Barbara. Among those present, there were three ladies who returned to the catholic Church, the priests laid the hands upon them and all the participants rejoiced seeing this. The participants made the resolution to accept Jesus as the only Lord, Saviour and Healer. During this event, the Word of God touched the hearts of the people by the strong preaching of Fr. James and there were numerous inner and physical healings.

On 24th of May, Fr. James gave a one day program in the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at Felixdorf, Austria, in preparation for the feast of Pentecost. Fr. James preached, celebrated the Holy Mass, prayed for healings with the Blessed Sacrament and prayed on each one by laying hands. Hundreds of people had gathered to hear his message and to be prayed over. Here are some photos.

From 20th to 23rd of May, a charismatic retreat was conducted in the capuchin church at Wiener Neustadt, Austria, where about hundred people regularly attended the retreat and received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Here too many came to attend the Holy Mass and healing services. On the last day there were many good testimonies of inner healings, physical healings and lives changes. A Turkey girl, who was converted from Islam, gave her testimony of God experience in the retreat. A young man gave his testimony how he was set freed from all his bad habits and committed himself in a new way to Jesus and the Church. It touched the hearts of many young people who were attending the retreat. Mrs Rafaela Hartsieber, who had been liberated from the power of darkness in a retreat of Fr. James at Don Bosco, Viena, last year, gave a powerful witness in front of all, which helped many people to come away from new age healers, esoterics, Hari Krishna movements and Sahibaba cult. Fr. James conducted a Catholic Charismatic retreat at the Holy Family Church, Kapfenberg, Austria from 14th to 18th of May. Seventy people attended the full seminar and were baptised in the Holy Spirit receiving a variety of gifts and charisms. Everyday for the Holy Mass and healing services, hundreds of people had gathered in the big and modern parish church at Kapfenberg. The parish priest said that there was never a big crowd like this in the church before! Unlike in other retreats, the parents have brought the children along with them, hence you will see many photos of the children with joy and happiness singing and dancing with Fr. James. On the last day, many people gave testimonies of healings of headaches, back pain, stomach troubles, etc. Two people claimed healings for cancer. One man, who was praying for the healing of his brother in law, claimed healing while Fr. James announced the names and to his surprise in the very night itself, his brother in law phoned him up and told of his healings. Two old people gave testimonies that how they were freed from long time alcoholism. Many people gave testimonies of inner healings and life changes. When dr. Helmut gave his testimony of coming to the Church after a long time reaffirming his faith by reciting the Creed before all, people clapped the hands with real joy and many went forward to hug him as an expression of receiving him back in the church.

From 7th to 10th of May, Fr. James preached a charismatic retreat for the first time in Ireland at New Hall Camphill community Callan, Kilkenny. Although it was arranged with a short notice, many people attended the retreat, many of them testified that they never had such a good experience of the retreat in the past. On the last day, many witnessed both inner and physical healings.

In the first week of May, Fr. James conducted “a growing in the Spirit” seminar for the leaders of the various prayer groups in Croatia at Voyarna, Petarzrinski.  Fr. James emphatically told the leaders to be united in spirit and heart and to work together like the early Christians in obedience to the Church. He pointed out very clearly some of the aberrations of the use of the gifts and corrected the leaders. The people were very happy to have received such corrections and advices.

Fr. James conducted a youth retreat for three days at the Mariengasse from 25th to 27th of April, in which many young people having received inner healings, affirmed their faith in Jesus Christ and renewed their Catholic lives. There were beautiful testimonies of the young people who have abandoned their bad habits, turned themselves to Jesus with good confessions.

Fr. James visited the Monasterio-Desierto Padres Carmelitas Teresianos "San Jose de Rigada" especially to meet Fr. Marcelino Iragui and Fr. Domingo Fernando, who were the pioners of the Charismatic renewal in India, while they were the professors and Rector of St. Joseph Pontifical Seminary Aluwa- Kerala, the biggest seminary in the whole world.
